Outdoor LED Displays
Commercial-grade outdoor LED, from daylight-readable screens up to 7,000 nits for events and turnkey supply through to permanent, engineered and certified installations for councils, stadiums and resorts.
Cinema that works before the sun goes down
Projection needs darkness. LED displays don’t — which is why councils, resorts, luxury homes and commercial sites increasingly choose LED for daytime programming, live sport and all-weather events.
Where a home TV runs at roughly 300–500 nits, our outdoor LED panels deliver up to 7,000 nits with automatic day-to-night brightness adjustment, so content stays crisp and saturated in full sun.
Engineered for the Australian climate
- Daylight-readable — up to 7,000 nits, automatic brightness, 160°/140° viewing angles
- Weather-sealed — IP69K-rated (the highest ingress grade, well above the IP65 most outdoor LED carries) in a die-cast aluminium cabinet that shrugs off salt spray — ideal for coastal and high-UV sites
- Flicker-free — 3,840–7,680Hz refresh with factory pixel-level colour calibration, clean for photography and live-stream
- Built to last — gold-wire bonded LEDs and 100,000+ hour panels (15–20 years typical), front- and rear-serviceable modules
- Pitch matched to the distance — a fine 2.6mm pitch on our 3m and 5m screens for closer viewing, 3.9mm on the 7.5m for civic-square distances; all 3-in-1 SMD, independently certified (CE, UL, FCC, UKCA and BS 476 fire)
Cinema-grade, not signage
Most outdoor LED on the market is signage — built to hold static text and ads at a low refresh rate. Film is a different problem. Fast-moving footage needs a high refresh rate, fine pixel pitch and calibrated colour, or it smears, judders and breaks up on camera. Our panels are cinema-grade: built for movement, clean on live-stream, and colour-accurate.
It’s also where quality shows. Cheaper panels fail early — dead pixels, patchy brightness and colour drift within a season or two. We use commercial-grade, front-serviceable panels with IP69K weatherproofing — the highest ingress grade, well above the IP65 most outdoor LED carries — so a single module can be swapped without a full dismount and the screen still looks calibrated years in. It’s the same hardware class deployed at landmark venues like Federation Square (Melbourne) and ICC Sydney. With fully integrated outdoor audio as standard, this combination of cinema-grade motion, panel longevity and engineered sound from one supplier is genuinely rare in the Australian market.
Two ways to put LED to work
Event & turnkey supply
For festivals, civic events, live sport and brand activations, we supply LED scoped to your program — daylight-bright, with fully engineered outdoor audio, a single point of contact and a fixed scope. Hire for a one-off, or buy for a recurring program (see buy vs hire).
Permanent installations
A permanent LED installation becomes part of a place — a civic square’s gathering point, a sporting ground’s scoreboard and vision system, a resort’s signature feature, a retail precinct’s drawcard. It’s daylight-viewable, engineered to last, certified for compliance, maintained on a schedule, and easy for your own team to program. Over years of programming it typically costs far less than repeated hire and staging.
- Site & structural engineering — mounting, wind loading, certification
- Approvals — we assist with council DA submissions and the engineering documentation required for sign-off (see below)
- Weatherproofing & power — IP69K-rated panels, redundant supply, cable management
- Control & content — networked media control with Cloud Cinema Pro, our cloud platform for remote scheduling, content updates and health monitoring
- Maintenance — front-serviceable modules, spares strategy, service intervals, support SLAs
Approvals: what the process actually involves
A fixed outdoor LED screen is long-term infrastructure, so it carries approvals and engineering that a hire screen doesn’t. Knowing the path up front saves months. In Australia it typically runs:
- Site assessment — viewing distances, mounting, power, sightlines, audience position.
- Solution design — screen size, pixel pitch, brightness and audio matched to the site. (Pitch selection is explained in LED vs projection.)
- Approvals and documentation — the stage most people underestimate:
- Planning / Development Application (DA) with the local council
- Structural engineering certification for mounting and wind loading
- Electrical compliance, and sometimes signage or advertising considerations
- For displays near roads, possible traffic authority input
- Installation and commissioning — mounting, weatherproofing, power, calibration.
- Handover, training and support — content management your team can run, plus ongoing support.
What councils and asset owners consistently ask about:
- Compliance evidence — engineering and electrical certification for sign-off
- Accessibility and safety — placement, vandal resistance, public-space considerations
- Light spill and operating hours — brightness scheduling so the screen suits the setting after dark
- Whole-of-life — panel life, maintenance and a spares strategy
We assist with the DA submission and the structural engineering documentation, manage compliance and coordinate the trades, so the complexity sits with us rather than your team.
Built for every sector
- Councils & government — community cinema, live sport, civic ceremonies and emergency messaging from one remotely managed screen; we handle DA, certification and accessibility.
- Sporting grounds & clubs — scoreboards, replays and sponsor vision, bright enough for daytime fixtures and built to earn sponsorship revenue.
- Resorts & hospitality — poolside cinema and event entertainment, with audio zoning and a build that handles humidity and salt air.
- Retail & commercial precincts — destination experiences, branded content and events, delivered within commercial fit-out timelines.
- Luxury residential — a private, daylight-capable cinema a projector can’t match, integrated into the architecture with neighbour-conscious audio.
Our process
- Site assessment — viewing distances, mounting, power, audience, sightlines
- Solution design — size, pixel pitch, brightness and audio matched to the site
- Proposal & approvals — including DA help and engineering documentation

One supplier, the whole stack
The turnkey LED stack — everything, from one team
Most LED suppliers sell you a panel and leave the rest to you. We deliver the whole system as one scope and one point of contact — engineered, installed and cloud-controlled. This is what "turnkey" actually means.
One team, one scope — project managed end to end
From the first site visit to handover and training, a single team manages the whole build — design, approvals, trades, install and commissioning — so you're never the one coordinating engineers, electricians and AV suppliers.
- Single point of contact, fixed scope
- Site assessment, solution design and proposal
- Handover, staff training and ongoing support
Engineered to stand for years
Foundations, structural engineering, framing and mounting are designed for wind loading and certified for compliance — and we assist with council DA submissions and the engineering documentation sign-off requires. Built as permanent infrastructure, not a temporary rig.
- Foundations & site works
- Structural engineering, wind loading & certification
- Framing & mounting, weatherproofing & power
- DA / approvals support
Cinema-grade panels — built for fast motion
A fine 2.6–3.9mm pixel pitch, 3-in-1 SMD LEDs and calibrated colour mean fast-moving film stays sharp and judder-free in full daylight — and commercial-grade, gold-wire bonded panels with IP69K weatherproofing don't fail early with dead pixels the way cheap signage LED does. The same hardware class runs at landmark venues like Federation Square and ICC Sydney.
- 2.6–3.9mm pitch, up to 7,000 nits, daylight-readable
- 3,840–7,680Hz refresh, flicker-free on camera
- IP69K, gold-wire bonded, front- & rear-serviceable panels
Fully integrated outdoor audio
Every system includes engineered outdoor audio — properly specified and integrated into the structure, not afterthought speakers bolted on at the end. One supplier owns the sound and the picture together.
- Engineered, integrated outdoor audio
- Audio zoning for the venue
- Matched and commissioned with the screen
Media control & cloud control — Cloud Cinema Pro
Networked media control plus Cloud Cinema Pro, our cloud-control platform: schedule content, push updates and monitor screen health remotely, so non-technical staff can run the screen day after day with alerts before your audience notices a problem.
- Remote scheduling & content updates
- Health monitoring with alerts
- Built for unattended operation
Frequently asked questions
- Why LED instead of a projector for outdoor use?
- LED stays vivid and high-contrast in full Australian daylight, where projection washes out — and it's weather-sealed for all-day or permanent exposure rather than packed away after dark.
- Do you supply for events, or only permanent installs?
- Both. We supply turnkey LED for events and programs, and we design, engineer and install permanent screens as long-term infrastructure — the same panels and brightness, scoped to whether you're hiring, buying for repeat events, or building a fixed screen.
- How long do the panels last?
- 100,000+ hours of continuous operation — roughly 15–20 years of typical use before any significant brightness degradation. Modules are front-serviceable, so a single panel can be replaced without scaffolding or a full dismount.
- Do you handle structural engineering and council approvals?
- Yes. For permanent installs we coordinate structural certification, weatherproofing, power and data infrastructure, and assist with Development Application (DA) submissions and the engineering documentation councils require. See our guide on LED screen council approval.
- Can the screen be managed by non-technical staff?
- Yes. Installs ship with networked content management so programming, scheduling and health monitoring can be handled remotely, and we train your team so non-AV staff can run it day to day.
- What does it cost?
- Event and turnkey supply is scoped per program. Investment-grade permanent installs are scoped to screen size, pixel pitch, structure, power and content systems. Against years of repeated hire and staging, ownership is usually far more cost-effective for anyone programming regularly. See our standard 3m, 5m and 7.5m LED screen packages, or ask for a fully custom screen.
